3 Inspirational Tenors

In 1995, three Atlantans, lifelong friends and classically trained tenors, decided to form their own version of the world-renowned "Three Tenors." They became the "3 Inspirational Tenors," focusing on Christian music and message-oriented secular works. Actually, the idea was the brainchild of Sueing's wife, Dr. Sharon J. Willis, who serves as musical director of the group. The group debuted in April 1995 at Atlanta's Symphony Hall in a concert benefitting the acclaimed Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde. Since that time, the 3 Inspirational tenors gave a second benefit concert for the Young Singers, performed at the dedication of the Dobbs Plaza on Atlanta's famous "Sweet Auburn" Avenue, and for the National Caucus of Black Musicians.  During the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, the 3 Inspirational Tenors appeared in three concerts for visitors to Atlanta, sponsored by the Celebrate Faith and Arts Council and the Salvation Army.  In January 1997 the group debuted a special program to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. on the occasion of his birthday at the University of South Carolina. The group's repertoire includes beloved hymns and spirituals like "How Great Thou Art," "The Holy City," and "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands,  as well as inspiring popular songs such as "Climb Every Mountain" and "The Impossible Dream."

In February 1999, the Three Inspirational Tenors were invited to tour Italy with the Saint John Neumann Choir of Lilburn, Georgia for a series of services and concerts. They were featured in mass celebrations at the Basilica of Saint Mark  in Venice, and the great Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome during the Sunday high mass.  They brought an Italian audience to its feet after their renditions at a Vatican-sponsored  concert at the beautiful church of Saint Ignatius. Later they were honored to sing before Pope John Paul II during a Papal Audience.
