A1A – The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show was formed in 1991 when Jeff Pike, lead vocalist and guitarist, invited Scott Nickerson, founder of the first Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Club, to join his tribute to Jimmy Buffett. In 1992, they won a Margaritaville Records Sound Alike Contest, catching the attention of Jimmy Buffett’s organization.
A1A became the first band to headline the annual “Meeting of the Minds” Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Convention and other major Parrot Head events, helping build the National Jimmy Buffett fanbase and the Trop Rock genre. In 1993, they appeared in Buffett’s MTV video “Fruitcakes,” and in 1995, Jeff Pike performed “Cheeseburger in Paradise” with Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band.
Over 32 years, A1A has performed for numerous high-profile clients and fans, with guest appearances from Buffett’s band members. After Buffett’s passing in 2023, A1A’s popularity continues to grow, drawing large crowds nationwide. The band remains dedicated to preserving Jimmy Buffett’s legacy with energetic and professional performances, solidifying its place as the longest-running Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show in history.
